Happy St. Nick's Day
As I get older, I become more thankful for the traditions that my parents did when I was a kid. One of my favorites was celebrating St. Nick’s Day, which is on December 6th.
We’d leave out our shoes the night before (December 5th), and there would be a treat from St. Nick in our shoes in the morning.
I’m continuing this tradition this year with Husband. I wrapped some candy (Butterfinger minis and a box of Raisinets) and put them in the only shoes that I knew for sure he’d see before work: his flight boots.

What a fun tradition!
Funny, my husband ended up with some treats in his boots as well!
What a cute tradition! I never knew that existed so I will have to start leaving treats in the shoes next year! Very fun!

I love St. Nick's day! No, you are not lonely when it comes to this tradition, a great part of Europe celebrates this day the same way. I can still recall my evenings spent on the window waiting on Saint Nicholas to show up in my street or at my door accompanied by Krampus. Adults would organize a little event where someone's father would put on St. Nicks clothes and walk down the street telling short stories and handing out candies to kids. The 'creature' called Krampus was the funniest part of the event.
