Small World

We went to church on Sunday on base, and I saw a girl that looked exactly like an old friend that went through initial military training with me.
I kept looking at her throughout all of church, thinking, “It looks so much like her, but why would she be here?”
It turns out it was my friend after all! We gave each other the stare-down after church, and then laughed when we recognized each other. We hadn’t seen each other in years, and it was fun to catch up. She happened to be visiting her boyfriend, who is stationed here at our base.
It is indeed a small (military) world.
P.S. I took this picture when Husband and I went to Disneyland last summer. I’m almost embarrassed to say that the “It’s a Small World” ride is still my favorite!

That is exactly one of the things I love about the military! No matter where you go, you are bound to run into someone you know!

Years ago, stationed in Italy, sitting at the bowling alley, I looked behind me and person had a lighter with a razorback on it...Arkansas....figured out we were in the second grade together....yes, it is a very small world...isn't it wonderful?

My sister LOVES It's a Small World! She goes 10 times every time she visits Disney World. Which is VERY often.

It's also so funny to run into old friends. I don't get that much since I moved, but I get it ALL the time in Facebook, especially with high school classmates with married names! it's always great catching up.

If I'm not expecting to see someone I know and won't be looking for them, I'm bound to miss them completely. I've walked by friends like they were complete strangers before!

don't be ashamed! it's my favorite ride too, i took it at Disney World this winter! after my husband put me in the first row at Kraken in Sea World, this ride came as a very, very relaxing and comforting session. LOL
