Time-of-Day Theory

It seems like at least once on almost any given week, Husband will say to me, “Wow, you have a lot of energy this morning.” I always answer, “I’m a morning person.” He has a hard time making sense of it because he has more energy at night. When I’ve fallen asleep on the couch watching TV, he’s still awake for at least an hour or two later. Our opposite schedules are not necessarily a bad thing. Husband, the night owl, can always fill me in on what I missed on Saturday Night Live. I, the morning person, usually have breakfast ready on weekend mornings. So it all works out nicely. Recently, Husband and I were talking about this very subject, and I came up with a theory. Maybe the time of day that someone is born affects whether they’re a morning or night person? For example, I was born at 8:30AM (= morning person), while Husband was born in the evening (=night person). Husband thinks it’s just a coincidence. Now I’m wondering if there’s any truth to my theory. So, what time of day were you born, and are you a morning or night person? (Husband has promised me that he won’t gloat if he’s right.)

Well I was born at 3am and I'm both a morning and night person so seeing as it's inbetween you may be on to something. I'm most motivated to get things done in the evening like cleaning and such but I'm also known to fall asleep on the couch. While in the mornings I have no problems getting up and on with the day?

I think you may be on to something... I was born at 9:40 pm and I'm definitely a night person. Let us know how it goes, especially if you ask anyone outside your blog. :-)

I was born at 430 am, so I'm not sure whether that makes me a really late night owl or a really early morning person. I was a horrible night owl till I had kids. I could stay up till 4 am no problem, now, I'm out by 10:30 and I've done more by 8 am then I ever used to.

um..hate to throw a wrench in the mix (but I could be the exception) I was born at 11:31pm and I am most definitely a morning person. The hubs is my night owl, but that could also have something to do with the whole military thing and rise and shine at o'dark thirty...but what do I know!

I was born in the morning, but I'm a night person by nature. For work, though, I am forced to be a morning person. I would love to stay up all night and sleep during the day. I sleep better when it's light out.

hmm.. possible. I was born in the night and I'm pretty much a night owl... staying awake till way past midnight.

Never really thought of this concept till now..

aww, man, apparently I am the only one born in the afternoon (3:14 pm). And if there is such thing as an afternoon person, I'm not one. I'd rather be sleeping.

DH thinks he was born at night and he's not a morning person at all. The Captain was born shortly after midnight and is TOTALLY a morning baby ;)

I was born at 12:09 pm and I'm a morning person. This midday thing throws it off, no?

My mom always says that's true. My sister came into the world late, and she is always late!

I came a few weeks early and I am ALWAYS early. If I am running late, I go into a panic. I call people if I am going to be 5 minutes late.

Maybe you and my mom are on to something :)

Love your blog, glad I found it. Yep, born at 6:00am and rise at that time ready to go every day! I hope my baby is born early in the morn' so we can be early risers together.
