Julie and Julia
We saw the movie Julie and Julia today, and we loved it. It was funny and charming, and for the first time ever, I can say that I enjoyed the movie more than the book.
I left the theater with a strong desire to: a) catch the first flight to Paris, b) eat anything covered in cheese or butter, and c) say "Bon Appetit!" in my best Julia Child voice. [I couldn't do (a) or (b), so I settled for an enthusiastic (c).]
We planned on going straight to dinner afterward, which I realized later was a brilliant plan because looking at all the good food in the movie made me hungry.
If you see it, too, I wish you happy viewing - and eating!

I saw previews for this movie on the plane, I think, and have been very interested in seeing it. I'm glad to have heard an opinion from somebody now! It's not out over here yet but I will be looking. :) Sounds like you would like a series of books by Sandra Byrd then...the first is called "Let Them Eat Cake", the second is "Bon Appetit" and the third is "Piece de Resistance". There's a story behind why I only got halfway through the first book and haven't touched it in 18 months but it has NOTHING to do with the book. I have the second book and the third is coming soon so then I plan to read them all through together from start to finish. :) Check one out!
Ahhh I cant wait to see it!!!!
I'm glad you really enjoyed it!
I just saw the movie this evening, and really liked it! It has also inspired me to cook more!
I'm glad the movie was good -- I've been interested in seeing it! I think food afterward is a great idea, but then again, I think food anytime is excellent!
It looks like a cute movie, based on the trailer. I'm going to try to see it but will probably wait until it's out on video.
I need to go see this! Everyone is RAVING about it, and now you are joining that boat! French, cream, & butter, bon apetit!
That's two good comments on this movie I've read today! I'm glad you all liked it cause I'm excited about seeing it. People mag. said Julia part was good but Julie was lacking....not what I heard. Sometimes critics don't have same opinion as the public!
Hmmm, I thought it would be a story I'd rather read than see but you might have just changed my mind!
I want to see that movie! I've heard mixed reviews though... some say it's good and others say that Julie is whiny. I guess I'll have to see it myself and find out!
I really want to see this...maybe I can convince my husband we need a date night out next week :)
I'm glad to hear someone else say they liked the movie more than the book--I was afraid I was the only one! I loved the movie!
